Why use HeyScottie for Electroplating?
Electroplating is the application of a metallic coating to a part. It results in a metallic finish, with a smooth, even metal coating. It is a finishing process. With electroplating, your parts can have a shiny appearance and be rust free.
The Process
Electroplating is done by submerging parts into a chemical bath called an electrolyte. The part is then dipped in the electrolyte and the material to be deposited (the anode) onto the part is dipped into the electrolyte as well. A current is applied, and the anode’s material gets electrically deposited onto the part.
Many plating baths include cyanides of other metals which require special handling. This is a good operation to outsource.
